"something will turn up, always has, always will”

I write today, on this auspicious and a very special day (31st December, 2010) which we all fondly call the New Years’s Eve, with an intention of warning you against the very obvious sin that you have already committed or have thought of committing.

I’d try to be very short this time. Also, it would be pretty convenient for me to leave you with a simple question here and let you come to a conclusion yourself:

Q: Do you like being lied to….???

Okay, its not easy for me to let people conclude on ‘my blog’ because its ‘my post’ and ‘I’ get to conclude here.

The obvious answer to the above raised question is “NO”. Nobody likes being lied to. Of course, there are exceptional cases where you yourself want to be lied to, so as to avoid an extremely awkward situation. But, I am not talking about any awkward situation here, until and unless you lie to yourself in order to stop feeling awkward. I am sure most of us don’t do that.

Thus, if you don’t want to be lied to, then why do you lie to yourself every new year by making a new year resolution (yes, this is the sin I was talking about in the beginning of this post)…???

Every year millions of people make the same old resolutions that they are going to quit smoking, do their homework, stop getting beaten up daily by the mathematics teacher, keep their spouse and parents happy, excel at their jobs and so on. (Blah, Blah, Blah)

I bet, few of them succeed.

I have never made a new year resolution ever in my life. I wanted to make one this year, but then suddenly something struck my mind.

I came to a realization that we don’t need resolutions to improve our lives. I also found out the reason why I never made resolutions.

The reason was that subconsciously, I always had the motivation to let life carry me along its own path while I just try to comprehend or rather speculate it’s  course of movement and try to play smart. I guess that it has worked wonders for me. Hope it works for some of you as well. If you are a materialistic hedonist like me, trust me, it would and for the rest, devil may care.

I have never lied to myself on the first day of the year and have never felt lost because of that lie.

Also, why lie to yourself when you can do it to others….hehe….kidding.

With that note,

Wishing you a very happy new year, hope you have the best year of your life, yet.
